It feels like just yesterday I was starting to apply for scholarships, but today I enrolled for my second semester of college. There are several days that go buy that I feel that I’m not ready to be in college. College is a whole new world that had taught me so many things. I am going to share a few with you.
- You can’t rely on anyone but yourself.
I already knew this, but college has really shown it. Yes, I got lucky and I have parents I can call at any point, but nobody is going to make me get anything done, except for myself.
- You are stronger and braver than you ever imagined.
Some of the things I have had to face since moving here are… pretty unimaginable.. Each time I have to face a new obstacle, which is a little more often than I have wanted, I learn a lot about myself and others.
- Change is okay, it’s actually good.
I really truly thought I knew what I wanted to go to college for, here I am half way through second semester and I’m mildly clueless. I have some ideas, ideas I never thought I would think about pursuing, but here I am.
- Organization is the key to success.
Being someone who likes to plan has been incredibly helpful. It helps limit my stress. My planner is my best friend, it goes everywhere with me. I’m thankful I have already developed tool to keep me organized, if only I could develop study skills that easy.
- College is way too hyped up.
When I was getting ready to head to college I was constantly told I would have no time to do anything. This is not true. I have more time than I ever have. I’m not in class all day every day, like in high school. College has way more free time, sometimes I have so much free time it worries me.
What have you learned about yourself or life in the last few months?
I don’t really have any new pictures to share.
Thank you for reading my blog!
